BREAD FOR OTHERS

We have bread available daily for those that cannot afford to buy it.  Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 9:00pm the entrance to our “Mother Teresa Welcome Center” is open for people to receive bread products.  Thanks to Festival Foods, Breadsmith, Roundy’s Copps Food Center and Sara Lee’s Holsum Bakery, we are able to share with those in need.  This is part of how we feed the hungry.

“Bread for Others” began 35 years ago at St. Peter’s Catholic Church when the youth of the area approached Father Carr and asked if they could collect food for the poor.  They went door to door and collected as the Boyscout/Cubscouts do in the fall now, the Postal Workers Food pickup in the spring, as well as grocery stores and other groups do on a daily basis today.

If there is any other grocery store or bakery interested in donating their surplus bakery to the poor, please call us and arrange a pickup or delivery time.  See St. Martin DePorres Food Bank for more information or please email; This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
